Dream Angus is a sort of Scottish Sandman who helps children off to sleep
Can you not hush your weeping?
All the birds are sleeping
Birdies are nesting, nestling together
Dream Angus is hurtling o're the heather.
Dreams to sell, fine dreams to sell!
Angus is here with dreams to sell.
Hush, my dear baby, and sleep without fear
Dream Angus has brought you a dream, my dear.
List' to the curlew crying, oh
Faintly the echoes dying, oh
Even the birdies and beasties are sleeping,
But my bonnie bairn lies weeping, weeping.
Dreams to sell, fine dreams to sell
Angus is here with dreams to sell
Hush my dear baby and sleep without fear
Dream Angus has brought you a dream, my dear
Soon the lavrock sings his song
Welcoming the coming dawn
Lambies hurry down together
With the ewes all in the heather
Dreams to sell, fine dreams to sell
Angus is here with dreams to selll
Hush my dear baby, sleep without fear
Dream Angus has brought you a dream, my dear
Dreams to sell, fine dreams to sell
Angus is here with dreams to sell
Hush my dear baby and sleep without fear
Dream Angus has brought you a dream, my dear
Golden slumbers,
Fill your eyes
Smiles await you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling
Do not cry
And I will sing a lullaby.
Can you not hush your weeping?
All the birds are sleeping
Birdies are nesting, nestling together
Dream Angus is hurtling o're the heather.
Dreams to sell, fine dreams to sell!

Huna blentyn ar fy mynwes,
Clyd a chynnes ydyw hon;
Breichiau mam sy'n dynn amdanat,
Cariad mam sy dan fy mron;
Ni chaiff dim amharu'th gyntun,
Ni wna undyn â thi gam;
Huna'n dawel, annwyl blentyn,
Huna'n fwyn ar fron dy fam.

so lay down your weary head
try and sleep now
calm your shallow little breath
be at peace now
another day calls out for you to make your own
this one goes where all the other days have flown
so lay down your weary head
be at peace now
try and sleep now
what does it mean to be loved?
what does it mean to be...
loved?
cast away your darkest fears

be released now
still the pounding in your heart
be at peace now
may your dreams bring joy and wonder through the night
and the morning find you glad to be alive
cast away your darkest fears
be at peace now
be released now
what does it mean to be loved?
what does it mean to be...
loved?
just lay down your weary head
be at peace now
try and sleep now
Pod pierzyną czarnej nocy
w blasku srebrnych gwiazd,
gwiżdże swoje kołysanki
rozśpiewany wiatr
Księżyc wplata w warkoczyki
kolorowe sny,
śpij laleczko moja mała,
śpij córeczko, śpij
W płatkach herbacianej róży
Calineczka śpi,
nawet przemoczony świerszczyk
zasnął w trakcie gry
Wszystkie małe grzeczne dzieci
już od dawna śpią,
dobra wróżka opowiada
bajkę którą śnią
Księżyc wplata w warkoczyki
kolorowe sny,
śpij laleczko moja mała,
śpij córeczko, śpij …
I found a little beetle, so that beetle was his name,
And I called him Alexander and he answered just the same.
I put him in a matchbox, and I kept him all the day...
And Nanny let my beetle out
Yes, Nanny let my beetle out
She went and let my beetle out-
And beetle ran away.
She said she didn't mean it, and I never sauid she did,
She said she wanted matches, and she just took off the lid
She said that she was sorry, but it's difficult to catch
An excited sort of beetle you've mistaken for a match.
She said that she was sorry, and I really mustn't mind
As there's lots and lots of beetles which she's certain we could find
If we looked about the garden for the holes where beetles hid-
And we'd get another matchbox, and write BEETLE on the lid.
We went to all the places which a beetle might be near,
And we made the sort of noises which a beetle likes to hear,
And I saw a kind of something, and I gave a sort of shout:
"A beetle-house and Alexander Beetle coming out!"
It was Alexander Beetle I'm as certain as can be
And he had a sort of look as if he thought it might be ME,
And he had a kind of look as if he thought he ought to say:
"I'm very, very sorry that I tried to run away."
And Nanny's very sorry too, for you know what she did,
And she's writing ALEXANDER very blackly on the lid,
So Nan and me are friends, because it's difficult to catch
An excited Alexander you've mistaken for a match
